homeowners tips 4

Welcome to Part 4 of our homeowner tips blog series. This blog will focus on cleaning your filters properly and in a timely manner to help ensure efficient operation and extend the life of your mini-split system.

How do I clean my ductless heat pump mini-split filters?

To properly clean your filters, you will first need to turn the power off. Next, remove the filters from your system. You can do this by opening the filter door and lifting and pulling the filters out of the unit. Remove dust and dirt by washing them with a mild detergent and water. Once your filters have air-dried, you may place them back into the unit. (Don’t use heat of any kind to dry them as they may melt.) Finally, shut the door to the unit and turn the power back on. It is recommended that you clean your filters every two weeks.

Closing Thoughts

Clean filters are essential to the function and effectiveness of your ductless heat pump. Not only do clean filters extend the life of your ductless heat pump, but they keep the air in your home free from pollutants, allergens, and other irritants.
